Linksys Aware is the name, and it will turn you mesh wifi into a home security system. It's a subscription service (like most home security solutions) that senses motion in the wifi environment and alerts you via a Smart App.

Its initial start is via the Velop system, rather the Triband routers, and is senses motion via the mesh wifi without the use of a camera or additional hardware, both very appealing, but also extremely far ahead of what most people thought was possible.

From the press release it states:

"Motion sensing in Mesh WiFi has incredible potential to change the way the general public taps into the capabilities of their routers. No longer will the router just be a device that enables Internet access in a home, it will be the cog that drives the smart home. Since Linksys is first-to-market, we anticipate playing a large role in that revolution."
- Matthew Keasler, Linksys Aware Product Manager

Everything will be sent as alerts to the users, this can, of course, be snoozed, said to be on specific times and sensitivity can be changed if you have pets or similar. All data is logged for 60 days, and the Aware system is an extension of the Linksys shield that very simply lets parents block unwanted content from their wifi.

Linksys will be expanding Aware system to other of their products, enabling flexibility and scaling.

The Aware system is free for 90 days, and then a subscription is 2.99$ a month or 24.99$ for a whole year. It is already live.
