The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) called in police yesterday to shut down the Ouya stall located in a parking lot just outside the E3 convention in L.A.
The Ouya booth, which is pitched just over the road from the L.A. Convention, has irked E3 organisers, to the extent that they rented the area in front of the stand and allowed lorries to park there, effectively blocking the public's view of the stand.
In response to that move Ouya organisers then rented the area on the other side of the parked trucks, and relocated their store, a move that prompted ESA to send local law enforcement in to shut down the stand.
Once officers realised that they were entitled to be there they left the Ouya team to it. Company founder Julie Uhrman feels that her team are being targeted by the ESA because of their attempt to go around the E3 organisers and attend the convention (without paying for a pitch in the Convention Centre). Uhrman told IGN: ""If ten more trucks show up, we'll come up with another idea. I have a few up my sleeve."
