We were so close. The much anticipated, id Software-developed Doom Eternal has had fans of gore, badass weaponry and hellish, fast-paced gunfights excited to jump in come November 22, but that has changed with a simple statement put out by id Software just recently.

On the official Doom Twitter account, the developer stated that the game will not be ready in time for the set November date and that Doom Eternal will, instead, be releasing on March 20 of 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the Switch version coming at a later date. The developer is, however, "confident that DOOM Eternal will deliver a gaming experience that is worth the wait".

Are you ready to play the waiting game for a little while longer?
