Sales of gaming PCs and peripherals are back on track

2018 wasn't the best year, but there's growth all around for laptops, desktops, and more in the PC space.

After a year that wasn't optimal, 2019 seems to be rock-solid when it comes to the sales of PC of peripherals, as the IDC expects sales to reach 55.2 million units in 2023, with 2019 expected to reach 42.8 million units sold.

However, it's important to note that this is dependent on consumer behavior and priority not changing from what we're seeing now.

The second quarter saw a 16.5% increase compared to last year in sales of laptops, monitors, and desktops, with 10.4 million units shipped. The report points to ease of access to CPU and GPU products to increase growth.

Gaming laptops still hold the largest single part of the market, with a 12.7% increase in sales as Ray Tracing capable laptops launched to broader audiences.

Gaming Desktops saw an increase for the first time in a long while with 3.3% growth too, and gaming monitors broke a new growth record.
