Ubisoft revealed that Rocksmith 2014 will be available in October, on current-gen platforms Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
We're promised a "completely redesigned interface", a "fully customisable Riff Repeater", that will allow players to select any part of a song they want, adjusting difficulty/speed as they go. Master Mode makes "playing by memory more approachable" and new Guitarcade mini-games are being included in order for players to refine specific skills.
Session mode was demoed by Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell during the presentation, and it basically allows players to jam along with a virtual band, with the accompanying virtual musicians keeping time with the player regardless of skill or tempo.
There'll be more than 50 tracks including: "Stone" by Alice In Chains, "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan, "The Chimera" by The Smashing Pumpkins, "Don't Look Back In Anger" by Oasis, "ultra soul" by B'z, with more to be announced ahead of launch.
Jerry Cantrell said: "Rocksmith's new Session Mode feature is one of the most innovative music technologies in recent history and gives you the experience of playing with a real band that actually adapts to you. The new Rocksmith 2014 Edition teaches real techniques for players of all skill levels."
