Bungie have finally revealed what their mysterious Aerospace-project was all about. Turns out it wasn't a game at all, instead it's a partnership program that will let them connect and help what they "hope will become a celebrated group of kick ass mobile developers who dream of seeing their own games rocket off the launch pad and touch down safely into the palms of your hot little hands."
The first company that Bungie are partnering up with is Harebrained Schemes, led by Jordan Weisman (MechWarrior, Shadowrun and the I Love Bees ARG). What kind of game Harebrained are working on isn't revealed, but the press release promises that we'll hear more about it in the near future.
"Bungie has always been passionate about making and playing great games, regardless of platform," Bungie's COO Pete Parsons writes in the press release. "Bungie Aerospace will allow us to explore game creation in multiple formats with some amazingly talented teams. Now that we've returned to our roots as an independent studio, we are in a position to launch Bungie Aerospace to support, foster, and elevate like-minded, independent developers."
