EA's E3 conference kicked off with an introduction for a third-person action title called Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. The new game in the series, from the ever popular PopCap, is the studio's first venture more action-orientated direction.
John Vechey came on stage and introduced Brian Lindley and Justin Wiebe who demonstrated the title in action. We see plants and cacti shooting rank-and-file undead shufflers and more exotic enemy types like Disco Zombies and the Gargantuar. All told, it looks very silly, but not an unnatural progression for the series. Given the studio's pedigree, you wouldn't be surprised it they pulled it off.
The game is coming first to Xbox One, with a 360 release planned to follow thereafter. Right at the end of the presentation Vechey also announced Peggle 2, and my heart did a little dance.
