Lego is no stranger to the world of mobile gaming - what with Lego Tower being released earlier this year - and now Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, The Lego Group, and Lucasfilm have revealed Lego Star Wars Battles for Android and iOS devices, letting players participate in real-time, 1v1 multiplayer fights in the Star Wars universe.

It's an action strategy game being developed by TT Games Brighton, published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Playdemic, letting players mix and match characters and vehicles from across the world of Star Wars, assembling a deck of light or dark side forces to use. Touch controls let you deploy troops and build Lego towers, trying to defend and capture territory while also attempting to destroy the base of your foe.

"We're very proud to extend the Lego Star Wars video game legacy with Lego Star Wars Battles, a new experience built from the ground up for mobile devices," said Jason Avent, Studio Head, TT Games Brighton. "We hope players will enjoy the unique combination of Lego Star Wars with deep strategy in deck building and innovative territory capture by constructing Lego towers."

This features content from all nine of the saga films, as well as Rogue One and The Clone Wars, and we can expect it for free next year on the App Store and Google Play, although it features in-app purchases.

Does this sound like a fun concept?
