You might know Riot Games as the studio behind League of Legends, the very successful MOBA with a thriving esports scene, but it turns out the developer is also working on a fighting game too, coming from Radiant Entertainment, who they acquired in 2016.
As shared online by various sources like Rod Breslau, Radiant co-founder Tom Cannon revealed that he is indeed helping Riot produce a fighting game.
"I want to be able to let people in on maybe the worst-kept secret in the universe, which is—I can confirm that we are working on a fighting game for Riot," he said.
Where better to unveil this news than at Evo 2019, the biggest event in the calendar for fans of fighting games, and while there isn't a sign of a title or release date, progress is still being made.
"We do feel like we're making progress, and I felt like it was only appropriate that we sort of reset the conversation and let everybody know that, what you think we're working on, that's actually what we're working on," he added. "When there's more to share, I'll be the first one delivering it."
Seth Killian was helping on this project, but Breslau claims Riot told him that he left the company "many months ago", with sources adding that he now works at Epic Games.
