Developers Michael Paixao and Joel Jonsson, formerly of Wolfenstein studio Machine Games, have announced the formation of a brand new studio called Bad Yolk, which they claim is "forward-thinking" and hopes to attract top talent "by offering a healthy and happy work-life balance, and thus, make the greatest, most creative and technically superior games possible".

There are 10 members of the team already, including 10 senior AAA developers with over 90 years of combined experience. These have worked on titles from Eve Online to Gears of War, and they're working towards a new IP that's yet to be announced.

"After years of working with some extremely talented people on some really great projects we felt it was time to branch out on our own to create a new kind of studio," said Paixao. "Obviously high quality video games should be fun to play, but we also believe that they should be fun to make and that creativity thrives best in a healthy and balanced work environment, which is a central pillar of our corporate message and structure."

Are you excited to see what they can produce?
