In the wake of the mixed reaction to Microsoft's unveiling of Xbox One last week, Avalanche Studio's CCO, Christofer Sundberg, has leapt to the defence of the new console and the way that the platform holder has handled the announcement of the new machine.
"Microsoft has said that it wants to make the Xbox One an entertainment center," he said in an interview with Edge. "If it was dubbed the ultimate gaming machine at this point, Microsoft would lose the attention of general media."
"This way, they are grabbing mainstream attention first and can focus entirely on gamers at E3. After that they'll have both in their grasp. The Xbox is and has always been a gaming platform, and I don't see that changing with the Xbox One."
Avalanche (Just Cause 2) has confirmed that they're developing for the platform, and we're expecting to find out more about their next-gen project at E3.
