The upcoming fifth main instalment in the Gears of Wars franchise, Gears 5 will be playable (or at least some content will) starting July 19. Those who have pre-ordered the game or are subscribers of the Xbox Game Pass service will be able to take part in the Gears 5 versus multiplayer technical test at that specific date, with downloads starting on July 17.
The modes that will be playable are Escalation, Arcade, King of the Hill and tutorial mode Bootcamp and apart from that, the challenge mode "Tour of Duty" will let players complete various challenges to unlock a banner exclusive to those partaking in the technical test.
Of course, you'll be able to unlock three Versus weapon skins as well.
If you want to play, make sure you join the battle on July 19 between 6PM BST and July 21 or, alternatively, on July 26 through July 29.
