Speedrunning isn't only a hobby for some members of the gaming community, but it's also a great way to raise money, and the website for the Summer Games Done Quick event has revealed that this has managed to raise over $3 million USD, setting a new record for the week-long GDQ.
The maximum donation was a staggering $341,000, and the average was $59.04, raising money for the Doctors Without Borders organisation, which aims to provide medical aid to those suffering all over the world.
Those who enjoyed Games Done Quick can expect another in San Diego between September 27 to 29, before the series heads to Orlando from January 5 to 12 next year. As for this year's event, you can catch up with all of it right here.
