Valve has just released Dota Underlords, a new game that looks to capitalise on the popularity of Auto Chess. The Dota-themed spin-off follows in the footsteps of the mod, and now Valve has detailed how it works and when players will be able to get their hands on the game.

At the time of writing, Dota Underlords is only available to Battle Pass owners as Valve looks at this first phase as a way of stress testing servers, however, an open beta is planned a week later and at that point, everyone will be able to try it for themselves.

The game, which has players compete with up to seven others in a chess-like scenario, is all about building, combining, and leveling-up a crew and defeating your opponents in a tactical battle of wits.
