No Man's Sky endured a somewhat troubled launch, it's probably fair to say. After a bunch of hype, the game that launched underwhelmed many players looking for something with a bit more depth, and the game at release was a little barebones despite its enviable sense of scope.
After that rocky launch, which was an understandably tough time for the game's developers at Hello Games, the studio resolved to turn things around and bring the game in-line with those lofty player expectations.
And so the studio went to work, and after a number of free updates, No Man's Sky is in a very healthy state right now. So much so, that the game's community has decided to express their thanks to the devs at Hello Games by putting up a billboard outside the studio, and buying them all a beer.
The studio announced the gesture over on Twitter and elsewhere it was revealed that a GoFundMe campaign had already surpassed its target. It looks like the devs will be getting their hard-earned beer after all.
