Using data gathered from a variety of publishers, UK trade body Ukie and market research specialists Ipsos MediaCT have today launched the first chart that integrates both digital and retail sales.

The PC-only chart is released in five different flavours, including boxed, digital, a combination of both, and digital expansions. For the month of March, SimCity (boxed) and Bioshock Infinite (digital) were the best selling games, with the former selling the most when both charts are combined.

Jo Twist, CEO of Ukie, said: "As an industry, we need to measure the true size of the digital games market and that's why we have invested in this system for the industry to own. Companies that are involved are already getting a competitive advantage, using the data to make informed and fact based commercial decisions."
