After having publisher Namco Bandai come in and take all their development kits and work away on the Splatterhouse remake, developer Bottlerocket Entertainment have told Gamasutra they are working on a new project. It is fair to assume Bottlerocket needs to find funding soon though, as they are not going to get any more money from Namco Bandai for Splatterhouse and their last project prior to that was a game based on The Flash license that went down in flames as publisher Brash Entertainment went down.
Bottlerocket Entertainment was formed by the core of the team that made The Mark of Kri when at Sony and their first game as an independent developer was the sequel Rise of the Kisai. They also created a game based on the kids cartoon show Xiaolin Showdown published by Konami in 2006. Meanwhile Namco Bandai has assured fans they intend to finish Splatterhouse up on their own with the internal team responsible for Afro Samurai.
Let's keep our fingers crossed for BottleRocket Entertainment - there has been enough developer deaths lately.
