Everyone knows that Twitch controls the streaming space for games, with the exception of a few others like Mixer, although YouTube tried to launch a streaming app called YouTube Gaming back in 2015 in order to compete in the space.
This didn't quite take off in the same way as other streaming services though, and Google has announced that the YouTube Gaming app will go away as of May 30, although they add that "we want to continue to build a stronger home for the gaming community that thrives on YouTube, not just the YouTube Gaming app", hence why they plan to "focus our gaming efforts across YouTube".
The Gaming page on YouTube is live now and you can find it right here. Will you miss the YouTube Gaming app?
