Alienware has used this week's Computex to introduce the updated G3, M15, and 17 laptops, making them lighter and even more powerful. The M series has been redesigned and reduced in weight, for example, with the M15 now coming in at 2.16kg in the worst case scenario, with the M17 being 2.86kg at maximum.
The M15 is the worlds first 15" laptop to utilize Tobii eye-tracking, while the M17 also uses Eyesafe display technology that reduces blue light emissions while also claiming to maintain colour integrity. The Tobii eye-tracker currently supports games like The Division 2, Far Cry 5, Project Cars 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Warhammer Vermintide 2, but there are plenty more big names in the list of 143 that are currently supported.
Displays come in 144Hz and 60Hz OLED, while the M15 also comes in a 240Hz and a 4K OLED HDR-400 version.
For cooling these thin laptops, Alienware has updated their Cyro-Tech to the 3.0 version, which claims to provide 20% increase in airflow in comparison with the current versions on the M15, and 25% on the M17.
The chassis is made from magnesium, narrow-bezel design, new per-key RGB keyboard, glass touchpad, and SSD only storage. What's more is that the new G3 15 features a one-click solution for switching between normal and performance use, called Game Shift.
As the price/performance has increased, the new G3 now starts at $799 USD, and comes with an optional 144Hz display, four-zone backlit keyboard, and a new design to accommodate an increased airflow.
All three machines feature the new 9th gen Intel CPU's, and the G2 has the GTX 16 series, while the M series has RTX options, with eight-phase voltage regulation and six phase PCU voltage regulation for sustained high performance. The 17.3" comes in 1080p resolution only, having killer Ethernet and optional Intel AC8265 with Mu-MIMO.
Storage solutions go all the way up to 4TB of M.2 SSD for the M15 and M17, while all models also have Intel Optane options. Only the G3 uses SATA hard drives; an extra data storage solution.
