Film director David O. Russell, who sent shockwaves through gaming fans when he talked about starring Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake and Robert DeNiro as his father, has left the Uncharted film project. According to Variety, the reason was "creative differences" between himself and Sony.

"[I]nsiders tell Variety the split was amicable and due to creative differences on the adaptation of the popular 2007 PlayStation 3 videogame, which Sony will continue to aggressively develop," Variety writes.
