Publisher Take-Two (2K Games and Rockstar), reported their latest financials last night. For the full fiscal year (ending March 31) revenue was up almost 50% ($1.21 billion), with a net loss of $29 million ($109 million last year). A significant improvement. The most recent quarter highlighted by the release of Bioshock Infinite resulted in a profit of $21.2 million compared to a loss of $66 million for the same period last year.
A trio of games headed by Borderlands 2 (6 million units sold), NBA 2K13 (5 million) and Bioshock Infinite (3.7 million) were chiefly responsible for the increased revenue, with sales of Max Payne 3 and Xcom: Enemy Unknown as well as catalog sales adding to the total.
With Grand Theft Auto V on the horizon the company is hopeful next year will see them making a profit - what is also positive is that digital sales increased 192% year-over-year.
