Counter-Strike: Global Offensive went free-to-play and received a Danger Zone battle royale mode last year, and while this has had stiff competition from the likes of Apex Legends, Fortnite, and more, Valve is committed to the mode, as evident from a new update that introduces a fresh map for players.
Sirocco is the map in question, pictured below, mixing together wide open spaces with more close-quarters areas like towns and underground passages.

What's more is that we've also got some new features that have been rather popular with battle royale games recently, including a respawn system popularised with Apex Legends that has since made its way into Fortnite as well. As long as your squad survives, you can respawn anywhere.
There are also starting perks to suit your play style, from a taser to Exojump Boots, as well as new items like the Ballistic Shield, Bump Mines, and a drone. We even get word of a feature that gives more cash for each hex explored over the course of the match, coming soon.
