Jojje Dalunde is a developer that has worked at DICE and Electronic Arts on the Battlefield series as a software engineer and producer, and now he's working on a new game with the studio he founded called Archipelago Games. A new press release has just revealed that the Kickstarter campaign for this project - called Hunter Gatherer - has just launched, running until May 30 and having a goal of $50,000 USD.
Hunter Gatherer combines many genres into one, including battle royale, RPG, and card games, looking "to create an entirely new gameplay experience, featuring humor, adventure, and many unexpected twists and turns."
"With Hunter Gatherer, we are combining genres that go so incredibly well together," says Dalunde. "Frankly, I'm shocked it hasn't been done before! I absolutely love classic digital card games, but at times found them to be very solitary experiences. In gaming, I prefer playing with friends. Being able to do that in co-op or MP was very important to me, and critical to the design of Hunter Gatherer. There is something so appealing on a cellular level to the tension of building up your character and deck, all while defeating enemies, getting stronger by each killing blow, and becoming the definition of a raid boss. I am certain I'm not alone in this, and that's why I created this game."
Players can choose from various characters like the Falconeer and Unarmed Assassin, progressing through a 3D fantasy world and shaping how they play by building their deck and assigning points. This can be played co-op, alone, or in multiplayer, so you can share the experience with friends and foes.
Backers will get exclusive skins, digital rewards, and early access to the game, and for more on Hunter Gatherer check out the screenshots below, as well as the Kickstarter page and the official site.
Does this sound like a cool concept?
