People have been speculating whether or not Blizzard Entertainment would decide to put the long-running fan event BlizzCon on hold this year after last year's controversy. Now, however, we know that's not the case since the developer just announced that the event will be coming back this year, with tickets going on sale in two waves, on May 4 and then on May 9. This year's event will also be expanded upon, with additional hall space, extra goodies commemorating the 25th anniversary of Warcraft, pregame festivities and a new ticket option.

The new ticket option is the BlizzCon Portal Pass, allowing those who purchase it access to the Darkmoon Faire, the evening event Night at the Faire at BlizzCon. Portal Pass holders will also offer the option to attend the show floor early, accessing the special lounge, parking spots and separate registration lines.

BlizzCon will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California from November 1 to November 2.
