Streaming platform Twitch has launched what they called Squad Stream, allowing up to four creators to stream together in one window for co-operative content creation, separate from existing systems like hosting and raids.

You can join up with other streamers from the dashboard as part of this, and it also gives viewers more angles on the action, with battle royale used as an example. It also allows communities to join forces in one place, and to celebrate the launch of this program, the link above gives details on several four-person streams coming over the next few weeks.

This feature will be available first for Partners, who can start a Squad Stream right now. As for the viewers, they can opt-in from Squad Stream from the channel page, and those who want to see more of these streams can use the Squad Stream tag from the browse page.

"We are rolling Squad Stream out to Partners first because of the need for video quality options (also known as transcodes) in order to ensure the best experience for viewers. Currently, all Twitch Partners receive video quality options on their streams by default, while Affiliates receive them as they're available, with priority access. Our plan is to make Squad Stream available to Affiliates and all other streamers as we continue expanding our transcodes capacity," Twitch explains.

Do you think this is a good idea?
