Though there's no details to share just yet.

EA and Disney have just announced a partnership that'll see the former making Star Wars video games for consoles, PC, tablets, and mobile devices.

EA's Frank Gibeau made the announcement today, and while he mentioned that the games will be powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, and that development teams would include DICE and Visceral (as well as the Bioware team who are already working on the franchise in the form of the ongoing MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic), he wouldn't go into details on specific titles.

Disney, who picked up the Star Wars license earlier this year (as part of a deal to buy Lucasfilm), closed down LucasArts - the video game development arm of the company - following their acquisition. Now it seems that they've chosen their preferred partner as they look to capitalise on the their investment.

Now all we can do is speculate on which studios will be working on which games. Might EA resurrect the abandoned Star Wars 1313? Who is going to handle the new game that'll tie-in to the forthcoming movie? So many questions...
