Warner Bros. are no doubt celebrating the strong start for the latest Mortal Kombat in America as the game sold more than a million copies in its first month outperforming Portal 2 to take first spot in NPD's monthly chart.

On the hardware side of things, Microsoft are still enjoying the effects of their successful Kinect launch. According to Microsoft Kinect Sports has sold 3 million copies and Dance Central 2.5 million in total. And Kinect helps the accessory category grow 20 per cent compared to last April. Nintendo are however not doing quite as well as Wii seems to have run out of steam while Nintendo 3DS slumps to half of its sales during the launch month in its first full month on the market.
