The official Twitch channel on the streaming platform will be hosting a special livestream today in which two MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) will be discussing Article 13. Julia Reda from Germany's Pirate Party and Tiemo Wolken from Germany's Social Democratic Party will be playing Mario Kart with Twitch streamers while talking about the issue.

This isn't the first time Twitch has talked about Article 13 either, as they published a letter to Twitch creators late last year to discuss the issue at hand. Basically, Article 13 would limit how copyrighted material is shared online, providing tighter restrictions on content creators.

"Article 13 makes Twitch liable for any potential copyright infringement activity with uploaded works, Twitch could be forced to impose filters and monitoring measures on all works uploaded by residents of the EU," the letter reads. "This means you would need to provide copyright ownership information, clearances, or take other steps to prove that you comply with thorny and complicated copyright laws. Creators would very likely have to contend with the false positives associated with such measures, and it would also limit what content we can make available to viewers in the EU."

The stream will kick off at 17:00 GMT (18:00 CET) today, and will be conducted in English. Will you tune in?
