Yesterday we reported on a rumour claiming that Microsoft and Nintendo are in talks about doing some major projects together. There were two fairly trustworthy sources claiming this, and now a report from Direct-Feed Games has come to the same conclusion.
They even detail some of the planned projects, and it turns out that Microsoft is preparing an Xbox app for the Switch which will support both Xbox Game Pass and the upcoming streaming service xCloud. That will make it possible to play games like Gears 5 or Halo Infinite on the Switch, but it doesn't stop there as it seems like Microsoft wants to release other Xbox games like Ori and the Blind Forest (according to Game Informer) as well, and if that happens we imagine that games like Cuphead or Halo: Wars might come into the equation as well.
Having Xbox on Switch would make a whole lot of sense for both companies as Nintendo traditionally has failed to attract the demanding action- and racing-audience, where Microsoft is better. And since Microsoft doesn't sell a whole lot of consoles in Japan (it's virtually non-existent there), it would also be a great way for them to reach audiences that traditionally don't play Xbox.
What do you make of all this?
