Having many players is great and all, but high player numbers usually also means that there are bound to be a few bad apples in the bunch, so Respawn Entertainment's latest update shouldn't surprise anyone.
Just before the weekend, the studio revealed that they've banned more than 16,000 of Apex Legends' 25,000,000+ players and that they'll continue to hover the ban hammer over potential cheaters. With such a large player base, they obviously appreciate any help they can get, so they urge us to report cheaters here. That's your best option right now, but they've heard our need for an in-game report system and it sounds like they're working on it.
Is this amount of banned players surprisingly high, low or just perfect compared to what you expected?
