Satoru Iwata's position at Nintendo has grown, with the company president now acting Nintendo of America CEO. In the move, designed to boost "organisational agility", Iwata has absorbed the responsibilities of outgoing Tatsumi Kimishima, who has now assumed the role of general manager within the parent company, Nintendo Co. Ltd.
Reggie Fils-Aime, the public face of Nintendo in North America, will remain in place, as the platform holder looks to streamline it's international operation. Several other directors have left their positions/retired in this latest management reshuffle.
The announcement comes off the back of financial results that were released this morning. Despite lower than expected hardware sales, Nintendo were actually able to turn a profit.
