To celebrate the Lunar New Year developer Behaviour Interactive is celebrating taking part in the festivities by having released a new content update bringing the Lunar New Year into their horror game Dead by Daylight. The event in the update is called Moonrise and brings with it three new outfits (three cosmetic pieces) for survivors Feng Min and Ace Visconti and killer The Huntress.

As for the event itself, which is held starting January 30th (19:00 UTC) to February 13th (19:00 UTC), there's plenty of fun to be had. The survivors are tasked (if willing) with finding vessels that have been scattered over the map (only one vessel can be held at a time) and when holding one, they become visible to other players, indicating a vessel is in their possession. If a survivor is holding a vessel and is hooked they lose the item and it's returned to its original location. The end goal is to escape with the event item in hand. Repairing generators also counts towards the reward of the event, being golden coins you can buy the event-specific outfits for (these cosmetics can also be bought with Auric Cells).

The killers goal is simple: his or her goal is to destroy the vessels being carried by survivors but can only do so when the survivor carrying it is hooked and for a short while after they escape it. The killer will know when it's possible to destroy the items by keeping an eye on the colour of its aura (yellow/orange/red). Hooking survivors will also get you closer to some golden coins as reward.

Last but not least, the bloodweb also gets two additions with the update: the Red Envelope Offering that helps players on both teams out with the event objective and the item Chinese Firecracker that survivors can use to blind the killer and get away more easily.
