Mental health mentor and European Mentoring and Coaching Council member Craig Fearn has teamed up with games industry figures Matt Spall and Mark Ripley to launch WellBeings, a company specialising in publishing mobile games that address wellbeing issues such as anxiety, panic disorders, and chronic pain.

Fearn has a gold standard qualification ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and will use his experience not only for the games, but also with WellBeings' position as a home for e-health and wellbeing applications and research.

WellBeings has tracked over 40 studies that claim that there is potential to use technology to help human life, although they also argue that there are downfalls to this. As a result, this new company will move away from what they call 'one size fits all' and 'virtual therapist' concepts and will embrace each user's individuality, creating something that users want to engage with rather than being forced to.

What's more is that WellBeings has been awarded a grant from the EPIC Challenge Fund, and for more details you can check out the official website.

Craig Fearn said: "The potential of the crossover benefits between games and e-health are massive. From a research standpoint, the data generated could revolutionise how professional practice responds to a range of conditions. From a user's point of view, our games will offer innovative alternatives to a stagnating market."

Can WellBeings make a positive impact?
