Nintendo is very busy right now, what with the Switch being incredibly popular and gaining traction worldwide, and now Nintendo's president Shuntaro Furakawa has spoken in an interview with Japanese magazine Kyoto Shinbun about the console. That wasn't all though, as he also had stuff to say on the mobile market, 3DS, and Nintendo Labo.

According to the translation from Siliconera Furukawa said that he's aware 20 million units is impressive for the Switch, but that he wants to continue to monitor how it performs. More software is key to ensuring its momentum, and he wants to emphasise the appeal of playing the console in different modes. Labo might not be doing as well when it comes to the Switch, but did well over the end of last year, being another product Furakawa wants to stress the appeal of.

In terms of mobile games from Nintendo, these aren't going anywhere either. Furakawa explains that these have their own styles of play and that they need to continuously add content, so expect around two to three smartphone games a year from the Japanese company.

For those wondering whether the 3DS might be on the way out, Furakawa reassures us that Nintendo will continue the systems. As for foreign markets, Nintendo wishes to do more business in Asia and try to enter the Chinese market too, although with the preference towards smartphones their priority isn't to bring game systems to China.

Does this all sound like a sensible plan from Nintendo?
