There's no doubt that Fortnite streamer Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins is the big dog of streaming platform Twitch, still registering colossal figures and being the most watched Twitch channel of 2018, but another streamer called Jaryd 'Summit1g' Lazar has been getting more and more popular in recent memory, pushing him over the 40,000 subscribers mark.
That's an achievement in itself, but according to Twitch Stats - an unofficial site giving us Twitch numbers - he's actually surpassed Ninja in terms of his subscriber count.
Subscribers aren't the same as followers on Twitch, as that record is still Ninja's, but it's a big moment for the ex-CS:GO player Summit1g, who has moved from streaming Valve's shooter to a variety of other games including Sea of Thieves and Atlas.
"Somehow breaking personal records on the daily, thanks again for the support dudes. Insane," he said on Twitter.
Can Summit1g hold onto this record for a while?
