When I say "Marvel Universe revealed", don't get your hopes up for any screenshots, trailers or anything like that. But Gazillion Entertainment held an event over in the states yesterday in order to reveal the comic writer that will be writing the game and give at least some information about how the game will work when it launches at some point in the future.

Brian Michael Bendis is the writer hired to work on the game, previously mostly known for his work on the Ultimate Marvel-line (with gamers perhaps having encountered his work in the Halo: Uprising comic). Marvel Universe will be free-to-play, and you'll be able to play as "your favorite hero" - the only confirmed ones are Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Thor, Spiderman, Nova, and Squirrel Girl (hooray for Squirrel Girl!). You won't have to choose one and stick with it, you can play as all of them if you like.

The game will be set in the canon Marvel Universe, so no weird alternate realities here. It's also targeted primarily towards adults and is being developed at a part of Gazillion called Secret Identity. Which, if you ask me, is an awesome name for a development team.

(thanks, PC Gamer)

But...where's Squirrel Girl?
No, not THAT one.

<bild>Ah, there she is.</bild>
