A mobile game wasn't exactly what most of us were hoping for when we learned about Alien: Blackout last November, but that's what FoxNet decided to announce earlier today. Needless to say, this lead to quite an outcry from many players around the world, and the comparisons to Blizzard's Diablo Immortal debacle hit the Internet within minutes. That's probably why FoxNet has decided to reassure fans by reminding us that Cold Iron Studios is working on a game set in the Alien cinematic universe as well.
We've now received the press release for Alien: Blackout, and FoxNet ends it by telling us that the Alien game Cold Iron Studios is working on is a massively multiplayer online shooter for consoles and PC. The full reveal might even be closer than we thought, as the company also posted this message on Twitter:
"Dear Alien fans, there is still more to come... very soon. #ReadPlayWATCH #AmandaRipley"
Of course, the hashtag ReadPlayWATCH could also mean that they are about to announce a comic, novel, TV series or even a film, but we hope to see what Cold Iron Studios is working on sooner rather than later. Even if the description makes it clear that it's not Alien: Isolation 2. Who knows? Maybe that's a third project?
