The next generation of laptops have landed at CES this year (the Consumer Electronics Show, if you weren't aware), and a new press release has filled us in on the next flagship model from Asus called 'The Mothership', featuring Intel i9 CPU, RTX graphics card, and a detachable keyboard, as you can see below.

This "redefines the laptop form-factor", according to the press release, and in more practical terms this means the air is now cooling the area behind the screen, simply because this is where the hardware has been placed, instead of under the now-detachable keyboard. This should improve placement options as well as speaker performance.

The laptop will be available in Q2 of this year, and will feature a 17.3" FHD IPS 144Hz panel with 3ms response time and G-sync. The CPU is an i9-8950HK from Intel, and we'll also get an RTX 2080 graphics card, with both of these being "above stock specification" from the factory, combined with no less than three NVMe SSD drives in RAID 0 and Gigabit internet connection for both cable and wireless.
No price information is available at the moment, but we expect it to be very, very expensive. Is this on your wish list though?
