EA and Bioware ended 2018 by confirming the dates for the demo of Anthem, the latter's next game and new sci-fi IP.

Those who pre-order the online action-RPG will get so-called VIP access from January 25-27, and then it looks like everyone will get to play the game on February 1 via a more public demo. After that, all we'll be able to do is wait for the full release on February 22 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One (although expect staggered early access via EA's subscription services).

According to lead producer Michael Gamble, progression made during the demo won't carry over into the main game (that isn't the case for those who play early on EA Access/Origins on PC and Xbox One - that progression will carry), so this demo is but a glimpse of the final game, not a headstart.

Writing on Twitter the man from Bioware confirmed to fans that progression wouldn't carry, but added that we would be playing through levels "10 to 15." The loss of progression makes sense given the higher starting level, and it means that players should also be able to check out a range of content that normally wouldn't unlock until some time into the game.

Early birds should also get an exclusive in-game item to show their dedication to the cause. By the looks of the small print on the official site, we're talking about an in-game banner.
