Over the holidays GFK Chart-Track confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 was the best-selling game at UK retailers over Xmas - making it the so-called Christmas No1. Less than a week later, with just a few words, the organisation also confirmed that Rockstar's opus also topped the charts come the end of the year, capping a successful 2018 for the studio and its latest title (which, by the way, just happened to be our Game of the Year).
In a succinct update on its official site, GFK Chart-Track wrote: "As 2018 draws to a close, it's 'Red Dead Redemption 2' that takes top spot to solidify a successful year."
Beyond that, there was no top ten chart, nor any word on which other games performed well over the week, but a look back at the previous week's best-selling games comes with zero surprises, with the likes of FIFA 19 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 leading a pack that contains many of the year's biggest hitters (including a bunch of Switch games, no doubt as a result of some last-minute Xmas shopping).
