Recently a rumour was circulating around that a Ubisoft developer Dianna Lora had been fired from her job working on The Division 2 after she criticised YouTuber Felix 'PewDiePie' Kjellberg online, having asked people to boycott him on Twitter. After that she made her account private and removed information about Ubisoft from her profile, prompting these rumours to start, but not all is as it appears.
Lora herself has explained the situation, clarifying that she was not fired and, through ComicBook, confirms that what she has stated in the message reflects only her positions and certainly not those of Ubisoft or Massive Entertainment.
Then she confirmed that she was taking a break from the social media, also in view of the Christmas holidays, and that she is particularly involved in this new project she is working on. In short, Ubisoft has not fired their employee, apparently.
If you missed the latest PewDiePie controversy, in a recent video he recommended 28 channels, and one of which he recommended because of an anime review he liked had a past history of anti-semitic content, prompting accusations of PewDiePie being irresponsible.
What do you make of this latest controversy for the YouTuber?
