Last night Criterion's Alex Ward took to Twitter, clearing up some of the rumours regarding the future of the studio. Or well, he refuted some of the rumours that had been flying around.

"After over a decade of making racing games it's time to make something new. It is early days thus I have nothing to "announce" or talk about"

And Criterion won't be making a sequel to Black either:

"No Black2 either folks. Volumes to tell on that topic, but will save that for when I get a book deal..."

Ward, who has always expressed an interest in returning to Burnout at some point, confirmed that position as well:

"I am proud of all of the Burnout games. When it feels right we will make another one. We are creative people."

Surely Criterion are looking at next-gen development, but what could they be working on?
