In a video report published yesterday ahead of The Game Awards, the folks over at The Know shared a few details about Borderlands 3 that they say they heard from a source close to the project who wishes to remain anonymous.
The Youtube channel suggested that we might get a teaser at The Game Awards (we didn't) but they also mentioned that Gearbox Software is planning on revealing the game in the first half of next year and that it's "almost out of alpha".
The main thrust of the leak relates to the characters in the game. The soldier will apparently be able to summon a titan-like mech buddy (and will have a focus on co-op with a turret on the mech that a second player can fire). They also talk about the assassin class, which they say will be able to summon a decoy, as well as mentioning a melee-focused siren class as the third. Apparently, all three are out of alpha testing. Then there's a fourth, called the beastmaster, who has three pets. Although apparently, the AI of the pets is causing issues so that class is a bit further behind the other three.
And that's about it. Borderlands 3 wasn't present at The Game Awards but earlier rumours that we would see the game in 2019 do appear to have potential validity, as long as you take all of this with the required pinch of salt.
