During a period of six months, Microsoft has announced the purchase of Ninja Theory, Undead Labs, Compulsion Games, Playground Games, InXile Entertainment and Obsidian Entertainment - and it seems that people from the Xbox team have said that they aren't done yet. Indeed, perhaps the next purchase will turn out to be an even bigger surprise, as a fresh rumour claims that they are considering buying a studio that historically has a longstanding relationship with Sony.

It was insider Klobrille (who on several occasions has been proven correct, such as when Microsoft picked up Playground Games and later Obsidian Entertainment), who tweeted the following yesterday:

"Let's make this Monday a bit more interesting. I can say that Xbox is in advanced talks (a few months) with a mid-sized studio that historically worked together with PlayStation a bit. No name dropping because of ongoing negotiations for now, but it's interesting nonetheless."

This does, of course, lead to speculation about which studio Klobrille is talking about, and they specifically ruled Insomniac Games out later in the same discussion. A few of the names that fit the description are Bluepoint Games (Shadow of the Colossus), Quantic Dream (Detroit: Become Human), Ready at Dawn (The Order: 1886), Supermassive Games (Until Dawn), and From Software (Bloodborne).

Which studio do you think Microsoft wants to buy and which one do you hope it is?

Could it be Quantic Dream?
