The race is very close.

It was back in May 26, 2010 that Apple beat their big rival Microsoft for the first time to become the highest valued company in America, but after a bit of a rough period where Apple hasn't charmed the market as much and iPhone market shares have shrunk - while Microsoft's products have continued to deliver despite an overall decline for tech stocks - the latter was yesterday once again valued higher than the former.

This was reported by Business Insider, who claims the CEO Satya Nadella is to thank for a whole lot of this. He decided to focus heavily on their cloud business and subscription-based services, which has seemingly paid off.

It's worth pointing out that both Apple and Microsoft have lost value during the last few months, and yesterday Apple was once again in the lead, meaning the pair are basically neck and neck right now. It'll be interesting to see where they end up during the upcoming months.

Which is your favourite though?
