Sony Japan has patented a new VR controller, in the process fuelling talk of future PlayStation hardware. The patent was filed earlier this year, but it only came to light more recently (via a report on Gearnuke).
It's got a catchy working title too, with the patent called "CONTROLLER HAVING LIGHTS DISPOSTED ALONG A LOOP OF THE CONTROLLER". Hopefully, the marketing team can come up with something better should this ever see the light of day...
It's not dissimilar to another prototype that we reported on at the very start of the year, and thus it seems that Sony is intent on upgrading the Move controllers that weren't even designed primarily with VR mind.
The other question that remains is, of course, whether this VR-focused peripheral will launch during the lifetime of the PlayStation 4, or its predecessor. Let us know what you think about that below.
