It was during E3 that Microsoft revealed that they had acquired no less than four studios that will now help create content for PC and Xbox. This was a surprise move that somewhat overshadowed the fact that they also announced the opening of a new studio based in Santa Monica called The Initiative, which looks to become one of the more important developers for Microsoft (they even went as far as saying they will do an AAAA game).
Now Windows Central has reported that this studio has picked up Tom Shepherd, who has previously worked as a Technical Director at Rockstar Games. As you might know, The Initiative is led by the former Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher and they have been headhunting talent since the founding only four months ago.
