The Call of Duty Endowment has revealed that it has reached its goal of funding the placement of 50,000 war veterans into high-quality jobs ahead of its initial schedule, launching a new goal of securing placements for 100,000 veterans by 2024.
This charity seeks to find veterans in the US and UK opportunities with companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Delta, Nike, and many more, and has so far been a success. The first goal when it was launched in 2009 was to place 25,000 veterans in jobs by the end of this year, which was met back in 2016, when it was revised to 50,000 by 2019.
"The Call of Duty Endowment has exceeded expectations and continues to benefit the lives of veterans and their families, significantly giving back to those who sacrificed for others," said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard and co-founder of the Endowment. "With U.S. and U.K. veteran unemployment and underemployment challenges persisting, I am thrilled to advance our efforts with a new, ambitious goal of securing employment for 100,000 veterans by 2024."
The Endowment has awarded over $28 million USD in grants to Seal of Distinction recipients, with over $31 million donated to the cause by Activision Blizzard, and what's more is that the non-profit partners with grantees to provide advice and support too.
Can they meet this new goal?
