Bungie has just announced via its weekly newsletter that the conditions surrounding access to Destiny 2's new expansion are going to change. Indeed, up until next week, if you want to play the new Forsaken content you have to have already bought the two previous DLC. That, however, will no longer be the case as Bungie is making Curse of Osiris and Warmind, the two content drops that make up the Destiny 2 Season Pass, part of the Forsaken expansion.
Ergo, if you haven't picked them up already and you're thinking about doing so so you can check out Forsaken, hold your horses because you won't have to after next week.
Bungie realised that people who had recently picked up the Season Pass content in order to play the new gun-slinging expansion would be unhappy at the prospect of paying for content that just a few weeks later is essentially absorbed into the cost of Forsaken, so the studio is hoping that some in-game rewards will be enough to sweeten the deal.
"You're our Vanguard," the studio wrote on Bungie.net. "We appreciate you beginning the hunt on day one. You were there when the first raid finish changed the Dreaming City. You've been part of the conversation that has breathed enthusiasm back into the Tower. For you, and only the players like you, we have a collection of veteran's rewards as an expression of our appreciation for being on the frontlines."
You can see the rewards that will be handed out to veterans who've played Forsaken before October 16 (the date of the change) in the image below. However, it's worth noting that the exclusive content is the Tiger Stripe Black Shader and Veteran Nameplate. It should also be noted that the package is scheduled to be delivered in early December.
What do you think, is this exclusive content decent compensation?
