Cart Life, a thought provoking game by Richard Hofmeier about the life of retail workers, has been awarded the Seumas McNally Award for Best Independent Game, giving the developer a cool $30,000 prize in the process.
The game was also honored with the Best Narrative Award and the Nuovo Award (which is handed out to abstract and unconventional titles), making it a successful evening for Hofmeier.
FTL: Faster Than Light picked up a brace of awards, taking home both the Excellence in Design Award and the Audience Award. Tomorrow Corporation's Little Inferno grabbed the Technical Excellence Award, and Kentucky Route Zero earned Cardboard Computer the Excellence in Visual Art Award.
Jeppe Carlsen bagged the Excellence in Audio Award for 140, and Best Student Game was awarded to Zineth, which was designed by students at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
